Hey Joanne

I have taken courses in livestock nutrition. Pigs are bred to be very hungry animals and are known to eat at all times of the day. Pigs are very smart animals and can learn very quickly how they can get more food. However for the general health of your pet pig you want to restrict his feed to what you have been giving to keep him/her from becoming obese. Here are a couple of options: (1) Look for feed that has a higher fiber content to keep your potbelly pig more satisified and stay in his belly longer. (2) Try to distract your pig from food by offering other forms of stimulation like a chew toy.

If you still have concerns call a local veterinarian and they can help you out further.
