I don't have a pig yet, but I understand they are very intelligent and have a good sense of smell. I would like to use this to help SAR (Search and Rescue) efforts in my local area. I have been unable to find ANY resources that discuss how I could train a pig to follow scents. Does anyone know where I might be able to learn about this? I would like to read a book, talk to a person, or anything else prior to adopting my new friend.

Pigs certainly are smart but they aren't dogs!
I doubt if a Pig will eagerly serve man unless there is something in it for them though!
Unless you are rescuing some kind of food they like, it may be kind of difficult getting them to follow a scent trail.
But I could be wrong!
