Pet Pig - Live on a Farm, Get a Goat!

While these pets are uncommon, they make excellent pets! My friend has some weird tastes and asked her parents one day for a goat. I thought she was insane but after spending the week with the goats, I can see why a person would want to have one of their own!

Advantages for Having a Goat as a Pet

1) Can be walked like a dog
2) Very personable
3) Compatible with other animals
4) Naturally very clean animals (self grooming)

Tips for Keeping a Goat

1) Goats are naturally herd animals so if you want a goat, remember that you must have enough room for two.
2) Goats are constantly eating so make sure they have lots of forage to munch on otherwise they will get into other things.
3) These animals are best kept in a pen with an area of 8m x 10m.
4) Exercise is important for every pet as an overweight pet is an unhealthy pet.
5) If you have a buck (male goat) the horns must be cut monthly to prevent injury.
